Raised as a military brat who traveled the world Sheryl learned at an early age we are all on a journey in which massive change is sometimes a part of life. As a Christ follower, she is passionate about allowing God to utilize changes in our lives for a transformational impact in His kingdom.
Almost twenty years in the business sector at a Fortune 100 insurance company, combined with over 15 years experience in church leadership at a large nondenominational church, provides some of the experiences she draws upon to serve this ministry. Sheryl’s goal is to encourage widows to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives - to glorify God - by sharing stories of His faithfulness (evangelism) and by teaching others to follow Him (discipleship).
Sheryl’s journey hasn’t been easy. Without God, it wouldn’t have been possible. Since the unsolved murder of her brother years ago and the second-degree murder of her husband by a drunk driver in September 2011, Sheryl has faced many challenges in moving forward. In the last few years, her journey has included dealing with her father’s death, leaving her job, selling her home, moving to a new city, and embracing a myriad of new responsibilities and relationships - including the birth of two grandchildren and the start up of A Widow’s Might, Inc. as a Texas based nonprofit. During times of rest, she worships with true abandon, in the deep blue seas, at some of the best diving and snorkeling spots in the world. Her greatest desire – to glorify God – with her life.
