Sandee Smith is a retired Research Analyst and Adjunct Professor, having served at Dallas Baptist University for almost 30 years. Her favorite thing was teaching a class on Worldviews for 20 of those years. Presently, she is a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church in Brownwood, Texas, where she serves on the Benevolence Committee and is actively involved with Women’s Bible Study and the JOY Sunday School Class. Kevin, Sandee’s husband of almost 45 years, died after a short battle with esophageal cancer. She has two sons. Michael, her older son, is married to Jessica, and they have five children to whom Sandee is “Gran.” Jason, her younger son, is her neighbor, and they live out in the country on adjoining properties. She enjoys Bible study, being in a book club, exploring small nearby towns, and sitting on her back porch in her rocking chair watching the deer and birds, especially the beautiful red cardinals. God is graciously guiding Sandee on her grief journey, providing comfort, peace, joy, and love at every turn, often through her friends at church and through other widows, including the wonderful ladies she has met through A Widow’s Might. She is following God’s call on her life to share her experiences with other widows and to minister to them and their families as He leads. Abiding in God gives Sandee the assurance that He will never fail to provide protection, provision, and presence in her life.
